Ann Butler of Niagara Widow being duly Sworn maketh oath and Saith that the above mentioned crops were growing on her farm near Niagara in the Summer of 1813 and the within mentioned Cattle and Articles were Left at and in her House near Niagara when she was compelled by order of the American General commanding to withdraw within the British Lines and that she verily believes they were of the value (respectively) above mentioned

Personally appeared before me Peter Ball Esquire one of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for said District George Augustus Ball of the Township of Louth, in said district Yeoman, who being duly sworn on oath, Deposes and says that he was in the habit of visiting the house and family of the late Mr Thomas Butler, in the vicinity of Fort George, and that he verily believes that the amount of two hundred pounds is not above the value of the building as within described and that he the deponent is a disinterested person, respecting the value of said property.
