Niagara District

Personally appeared before me John Warren one of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for this District Abigail Anger of Bertie in said District, widdow woman, who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that her team consisting of two lorry waggons and harness was last [illegible] employed in his Majesty’s Service, that on the 6th day of June last when said team was engaged in conveying Baggage and some soldiers [wives?] of the 41st Regiment to Burlington it was seized and taken away by a party of the American Troops, and that she has never received any compensation for it

I have the honor, by command of Lieutenant General Drummond, to return you the Deposition of Abigail Anger; and to acquaint you for the information of Major General Riall, that her claim cannot be now attended to; but need be submitted to the Board, which, at a future period, it will doubtless be necessary to establish , for the investigation of similar demands.
