I Ann Graham of the Township of Bertie do hereby solemnly declare that I have actually sustained the damage in the accompanying claim set forth and that I have not received any remuneration whatever either from His Majesty’s Government or from the Individual who committed the damage claimed for or from any person or persons for them.

We James Brown and Abram Johnston of the Township of Bertie do hereby certify that we have carefully examined the accompanying claim made by Ann Graham of the Township of Bertie for damage sustained by her from His Majesty’s Troops from Indians following His Majesty’s Troops or from a party of the enemy under command of General Brown in September 1814 and that we do further certify from our own knowledge that the said Ann Graham has actually suffered the damage for which she claims to be remunerated and that in our estimation the sum of £118.5._ Halifax is a just and reasonable compensation for the same and also that the several items put down are not overcharged.
