Statement of Losses Sustained by Azubah Haiger of the Township of Thorold, Widow, of the late Jonathan Haiger, during the late war with the United States of America
For a Waggon and Harness taken by the British Troops under Genl Vincent on the Retreat to Burlington, about the Sixth of October 1813

Personally appeared before me Alex Hamilton One of His Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for said District, Azubah Haiger, Widow, of Thorold aforesaid who being duly sworn deposeth that the above is a true statement of losses sustained by her during the late war with the United States of America, that the sum of Thirty seven pounds Ten Shillings is a reasonable charge for the same at that time, & further that she has never recd any remuneration

William Hutt of Hawthorn in said District Yeoman Sworn desposeth that he has a perfect knowledge that the within Azubah Haiger was possessed of the property within mentioned and that he verily believes that the same was taken by the British Troops as they retreated. That the Sum of Thirty seven pounds ten shillings is a reasonable charge for the same at that time, and further that he is in no way interested in making this affidavit
